Russian companies consider acquisition of Lipton assets
MOSCOW, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- Some Russian producers of willow herb are considering acquiring the division of Ekaterrà that manufactures and distributes tea under the Lipton brand in the country, Chairman of the union Alexander Khlynov told PRIME on Monday.
The union of willow herb producers plan negotiations with the company on behalf of some investors, he said.
“A sales offer was sent to the Russian office of the company some time ago, and it forwarded the offer to the head company that allowed further negotiations. There are a number of producers and investors interested in the project. The format of participation is still under discussion,” he said.
Lipton had 7% of the Russian market.
